The Children’s Aid Society of Toronto (CAST) Child Welfare Institute is a Branch of CAST. Its mission is to enhance services to children, youth and families who have experienced or are at risk of abuse and neglect, through the provision of quality training and consultation. The Institute also works to promote excellence in the field of child protection and to improve outcomes for children and youth through a focus on research, program evaluation and evidence based practice

The CAST Child Welfare Institute provides three primary services for agency staff and external customers: >

  •  Training and Development  Staff Training and Development
  •  Research Research and Program Evaluation
  •  Consultation Consultation/Service
    The Institute also provides Peer Support Team Services (Critical Incident Stress Management) for external agencies in the greater Toronto Area.  The Institute is responsible for managing the Society’s student placements and for developing an enhanced student placement program.  The Institute is focused on developing partnership with Universities, Colleges and Centres of Excellence. –>
